Call for Manuscripts on Land-Water Interactions in the Amazonupdated 1.20.10
posted 11.05.09

Submission Deadline has been extended to March 1, 2010.

The Large-Scale Biosphere Atmosphere Experiment in the Amazon (LBA) has been promoting a broad range of research activities for over a decade, including a major focus on land-water interactions. Many of the projects are nearing completion, resulting in a significant number of relatively mature manuscripts being nearly ready for submission to a journal.

Several of these, including at least two synthesis papers on cross-site comparisons with multiple coauthors, were identified by the research groups working on land-water interactions.

Following a well-established track record of successful LBA special issues in journals such as JGR-Atmospheres, JGR-Biogeosciences, Ecological Applications, Global Change Biology, Hydrological Processes, and Remote Sensing of the Environment, a group of LBA researchers is organizing a special issue of Biogeochemistry that will be devoted to papers on land-water interactions in the Amazon and Cerrado. Both synthesis papers and original research papers will be welcome.

The guest editors of this LBA special issue will be: Jeff Richey (University of Washington) Vickey Ballester and Alex Kruche (CENA, USP) Eric Davidson (Woods Hole Research Center), Mark Johnson (University of British Columbia)

In addition to the general instructions in the accompanying pdf, authors should do the following two things: 1. When submitting, you will find a pull-down menu to select the type of article being submitted. You should select "SI: LBA" from this menu. 2. After submitting an article, be sure to send a separate memo to Eric Davidson (edavidson@whrc.org) to indicate that you have submitted a manuscript. This will enable us to make sure that none get misplaced and that all are considered for publication in the correct special issue.

Feel free to inquire with any of the guest editors if you have questions. Please note that all manuscripts must pass a thorough peer review before being accepted for publication.
