The LBA-ECO Science Team Meeting for 2007 will be held in Salvador, Bahia from September 26-28 at the Hotel Fiesta Convention Center.
Many LBA-ECO projects will be nearing completion by the time of this meeting and we will review our accomplishments. Integration and synthesis of LBA-ECO science will not be completed by September so we will use some of our time to coordinate ongoing efforts and even dare to think of the future. I look forward to reports from the synthesis groups as well as presentations of ongoing synthetic efforts by all members of the LBA-ECO Science Team.
As in the past, there will be no registration fee for this meeting. In order to guarantee that we can serve all who wish to attend, registration will be open through August 24, 2006. Abstracts for talks and posters will be accepted through August 3, 2007. A program for the meeting should be available in early September.
All participants in LBA-ECO as well as all members of the greater LBA scientific community are welcome at this meeting. Please note that support for attendance is the responsibility of each participant or project. All LBA-ECO Phase III investigations should be represented. As in the past, NASA Program Management expects the US Principal Investigator and the lead South American Counterpart Investigator to represent their teams. The Project Office also will consider, on a case-by-case basis, well-justified requests for support from Phase II participants whose funding has expired.
Presentation of scientific results in talks and posters will be an important part of this meeting. There will be a limit of 2 abstracts per first author for talks and posters. We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to display your scientific accomplishments and to share results with the LBA-ECO community.
I look forward to seeing you in Salvador,
Michael Keller, NASA Project Scientist for LBA-ECO
