back to LBA-ECO 10th Science Meeting

Invitation Letter

Dear LBA-ECO Participant:

The LBA-ECO Science Team Meeting for 2006 will be held in Brasilia from October 4-6 at the Naoum Plaza Hotel.

The purpose of the Science Team Meeting will be to share scientific results and to continue our efforts towards integration and synthesis of LBA-ECO science. By the date of the meeting, most of the LBA-ECO synthesis groups will have advanced their studies significantly. I look forward to reports on the synthesis activities by these groups as well as presentation of ongoing synthetic efforts by all members of the LBA-ECO Science Team.

As in the past, there will be no registration fee for this meeting. In order to guarantee that we can serve all who wish to attend, registration will be open through September 13, 2006. Abstracts for talks and posters will be accepted through August 4, 2006. A program for the meeting should be available in early September.

All participants in LBA-ECO as well as all members of the greater LBA scientific community are welcome at this meeting. Please note that support for attendance is the responsibility of each participant or project. All LBA-ECO Phase III investigations should be represented. As in the past, NASA Program Management expects the US Principal Investigator and the lead South American Counterpart Investigator to represent their teams. The Project Office also will consider, on a case-by-case basis, well-justified requests for support from Phase II participants whose funding has expired.

Presentation of scientific results in talks and posters will be an important part of this meeting. There will be a limit of 2 abstracts per first author for talks and posters. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to display your scientific accomplishments and to share results with the LBA-ECO community.

I look forward to seeing you in Brasilia,

Michael Keller, NASA Project Scientist for LBA-ECO
