FLONA Tapajós Forest

see also FLONA Regulations

All entry into forested sites requires a license/permit from IBAMA.  Research teams apply for a group permit and then individual names are added to the permit as needed. Solicitations can be made via the STM office.

New Investigation Team Permit Requests
All permission requests for researchers are handled through the Santarém Field Operations Office after receiving the researcher's site visit request through the STI. The forms you need to fill out may be sent to you by email.

New Researcher
If it is a new researcher (first time in the FLONA) the field office submits request for the person be added to the group's FLONA research permit.

Veteran Researcher
If it is a veteran researcher, their name and research dates go on a monthly letter sent to IBAMA.

FLONA ID Cards
FLONA ID cards are made for all researchers, technicians and staff that are in the FLONA with any frequency. These include the person's picture, team number, and title as well as contact information for the project, IBAMA, and Embrapa. The IDs are signed by the Santarém Field Operations Office Manager and the FLONA manager at IBAMA.
