Michela Figueira, a Santarem native, and current graduate student in Piracicaba, will visit SUNY Albany for an extended period to analyze and submit for publication biometric data she and Albert Sousa (another Santarem student) collected over several years in Tapajos National Forest, selectively-logged tower site. An USP graduate student will be trained on processing high-frequency turbulence data during an extended visit at SUNY Albany. A second USP graduate student will visit SUNY Albany for an extended period of time to work on incorporating the km 83 tower data into a model such as SIB2. We will also provide training on accessing the daily field data transmitted by satellite that is used to diagnostic system performance. Prof. Rocha will continue to involve USP graduate students in the analysis of km 83 water and energy budget. Prof. Goulden will continue to oversee the graduate training and education of Chris Doughty. Graduate students from USP, Piracicaba, and UCI will partipate in conferences.
