Dataset Abstract:

This data set includes various shortwave radiative fluxes for the period January 1989 to Dec. 2000. The radiative fluxes are based on raw satellite observation as available under the ISCCP DX project. They are provided at 0.5 degree resolution on a daily time scale.
The covered domain is: 70.25S-69.75N, 140.25W-17.75W
The following parameters are provided: 1) ssda -- surface shortwave downward flux 2) ssua -- surface shortwave upward flux 3) vsda -- visible surface downward flux 4) vsua -- visible surface upward flux File names: yymmpppp_day.biglba -- daily data yymmpppp_day.biglba.ctl -- grads ctl file for descripting daily data structure where yy : year (two digits) mm : month (two digits) pppp : parameter (four characters), their values are: ssda -- surface shortwave downward flux ssua -- surface shortwave upward flux vsda -- visible surface downward flux vsua -- visible surface upward flux All data files are compressed using the gzip utility, and all have the extension .gz attached to the above names.
