Dataset Abstract:

This poster shows highlights from our exploration of potential physiographic controls on deforestation. Our approach was to model the probability of deforestation as a function of soil type, geology, distance from roads, slope, and terrain roughness. We used logistic regression (linear least squares estimation of a binary variable), which allows the use of both continuous and categorical datasets, and produces a probability of an event occurring. Please refer to the poster for the results.
