Dataset Abstract:

The trinational basin of Bolivia, Brazil and Peru of High Acre River (7600 km2) it is one of the few trinational basins existent in Brazil and it can be an example in micro scale of how a basin shared by territories of different countries works. However, it is difficult to find compatible data on border areas, being these originating from different sources. The integrated management of this basin depends among other things of compatible data of these three countries. With this purpose, information is being generated on the environmental characteristics of this basin as subsidy for the integrated and participatory management of this basin. This way this data set contain data about location of the tributary of High Acre River. For each tributary location three readings of GPS coordinates were accomplished in the outlet of each tributary in Rio Acre, in which it was just used the medium coordinate to compose the plan that is in this data set. The projection used for the coordinates was UTM WGS 84. There is also a file containing the pictures of some of those tributary as well as maps showing their location. This data were used to analyze the confiability of the hydrographic data of Digital Elevation Model (DEM/SRTM), 2000. This analyses is showed as an illustrative poster that was presented in the III Scientific Conferences of LBA 2004. The data set include a expanded summary about other information of this basin that was presented in the Brazilian Congress of Ecology in 2003.
