Dataset Abstract:

Multi-temporal SAR data is analyzed to determine seasonality in vegetative cover, inundation and sediment concentrations in floodplain waters. We have now generated a set of co-registered scenes with seasonal differences in flooding on three reaches of the Amazon River plus in Roraima, Amapa, Marajo Island and the Llanos dos Moxos (Bolivia). The seasonal pattern of inundation will be determined for these sites and used to adjust our basinwide estimates of inundation seasonality as initially mapped on the JERS-1 mosaics.
